sidebike125rParticipating in an ultra-cycling race is like no other discipline of bicycle racing. While every type of racing has its unique mental challenges and race strategies ultra-cycling adds a few more elements to manage and endure. Because ultra-cycling is contested in a single-stage racers must manage for themselves how much time they spend racing and how much time they devote to resting. The desire to continue to race past a racer’s optimum performance level usually simultaneously impedes and compels an ultra-cyclist and truly allows each rider to discover exactly how far they can go.

Please keep in mind that the information contained in this section should be considered  as only an introduction to the intricacies of ultra-endurance bicycle racing. Each racer or race team should practice with their support crew and learn what system works best for them.

Ride Canada is very proud of the challenge that we have created. Not only is it a very demanding cycling challenge the Canadian province of British Columbia provides a race course that is sure to inspire and keep your support crew’s cameras working almost as hard as you do.

Your participation is welcome and we will do our very best to make you feel welcome, provide guidance through the process of preparing your race plan and to instill a safe approach to executing your race..
